Do you have discipline?

My dear friends...

We have been exploring here what I have called The Holy Experience, and how to create it in one’s life. There are a number of tools that I have found with which one may do this, and over the past many weeks we have been exploring them one by one. Last week we looked at Tool #10, Service. Today, we invite you to pick up the tool of Discipline.

I see this tool being used in two ways. First, as a means of forming and shaping my own day-to-day experience of life, so...

Who are you serving today?

My dear friends...

We have been exploring here what I have called The Holy Experience, and how to create it in one’s life. There are a number of tools that I have found with which one may do this, and over the past many weeks we have been exploring them one by one. This week, a look at Tool #10: Service & Discipline.

When I was a younger man I had a great sadness. A woman with whom I was engaged to be married decided that she didn’t want to marry me after all. She broke off...

Make a Ritual of Ritual

My dear friends...

Last week we discussed in this space Movement as a tool in the creation of The Holy Experience. We also promised that this week we would explore yet one more tool: Ritual. Let’s look at that now.

The dictionary defines ritual as a series of actions or type of behavior regularly and invariably followed by someone, often according to a prescribed order.

Rituals are patterns of ordered living. By their nature they move us into non-awareness by their autonomic forms....

Moveliness is Holiness

My dear friends...

Last week we discussed in this space Movement as a tool in creating The Holy Experience in one’s life. I said that however you employ it, the tool of Movement has been known to produce significant benefit. Not only, as may seem obvious, physical toning and shaping, but metaphysical sharpening and opening as well. We’ll continue this week by saying that the above is true because Movement is about agitating energy. It is stirring the pot of the primal soup. It is...

Physical Movement is a Tool

My dear friends...

We’ve been discussing the various tools that I have discovered have given us as a pathway to what I call The Holy Experience. I would like to continue this exploration today with a look at the tool that I call “Movement.”

From the beginning of human experience our species has intuitively understood that Movement was somehow an important tool in both living a good life and connecting with an Essence larger than themselves.

It is no coincidence that...

Letting go of Expectation

My dear friends...

We’ve been discussing the tool of Visualization in this space as one of the many instruments life has given us as a pathway to The Holy Experience. I wanted to conclude that discussion today with a final note about this particular metaphysical device.

In my experience this is an important part of the process—perhaps the most important part: let go of all expectations, demands, or requirements.

In other words, do not sit back and begin to get impatient if or...

The best movie you ever saw

My dear friends...

We’ve been discussing the tool of Visualization in this space as one of the many instruments life has given us as a pathway to The Holy Experience, and last week we explored how the process works, metaphysically, very much like putting the pieces of a puzzle together.

Now, let’s take a look at a simple technique that I have used to employ the process of Visualization in my life. The process itself is used, of course, as one tool in the creation of the life...

Piecing life’s puzzle together

My dear friends...

We took at look in this space last week at Visualization as a tool in creating The Holy Experience. I would like to continue that exploration here today, by examining the concept of “visualization” from an entirely different perspective...

In recent years we have been hearing a great deal from medical science about “undifferentiated stem cells.” These are human cells that have not taken on any particular form. Ultimately the body “coaxes”...

Visualization as a Tool

My dear friends...

We continue our extraordinary exposition on how to move into what I have been calling The Holy Experience. Last week we talked about the tool of Sound. This week, let's look at another instrument --- one of the most powerful Instruments I have ever used. It is the tool of visualization.

I'm tempted to stay away from saying something very daring here, but it is true, so I'm going to say it: I have hardly ever used the tool of visualization and have it not work.

I'm not going...

Learning to Listen to Life

We continue this week in our extraordinary exposition on how to move into what I have been calling The Holy Experience. Last week we said here that meditators are often told that a good way to begin their practice is to listen to the sound of their own breath. Move deeply into the sound, meld with it, become one with it.

Training ourselves to listen to the sounds of life and to seek Resonance with life is a wonderful beginning on the path to Non-Awareness of the Self. We experience our Selves...
